9.30 - 11.30 am Sitting and walking meditation
11.30 - 12.00 Talk and discussion
12.00 - 1.00 pm Lunch or tea/coffee
Sitting and walking meditation
The morning begins with reading a few Zen texts and other writings, including poetry. We then follow a simple structure for our sitting and walking meditations which is explained in the introduction to newcomers, and is easy to follow.
People sit in chairs or on meditation cushions or benches. If you have meditation equipment you like to use, you are welcome to bring it along. Chairs and some meditation cushions (zafus) are available at the centre.
Please wear loose and comfortable clothing.
